Hindraf leader back in Malaysia! Good or Bad?

Found this article online from The Star. So s this good or bad for the nation? I hope he really does what he say, which is to help the Indian community; and not just cause more political instability to our beloved nation.

JOHOR BARU: Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) leader P. Waythamoorthy has returned home after his self-imposed exile in London since November 2007.
Waythamoorthy, who was all smiles, said he did not have much problems getting through immigration although his passport was briefly taken away by officials at around noon at the Sultan Iskandar Immigration, Customs and Quarantine (CIQ) complex here.
“I asked the official if there was a problem because I was on the wanted list and the official said yes,” he said, adding that several officials then asked him to head to their office but when he declined, the officials later allowed him to pass.
He said he was happy to be back.

“My smooth entry and the issuance of a passport to me shows that the Government recognises our struggle,” he said during a press conference at a resort here.
Waythamoorthy said he wanted the Government to recognise Hindraf.
“We want the Government to recognise our efforts. We want to engage with both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat to highlight the issues faced by the Indian community,” he said.
He said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had shown sincerity in his initiatives to help the Indian community.
“We are happy with this matter but would like the Prime Minister to make good on his promises,” he said, adding that he was planning to conduct meet-the-people sessions soon.
He said he did not plan to join any political party as his main priority was to help the poor in the Indian community.

Duo in vendetta rape - Nation | The Star Online

Duo in vendetta rape - Nation | The Star Online

This is further update on the new posted yesterday. I still find it SHOCKING to my very bones. What kind of people would do it? The culprit should be shot without further question. Furthermore, this happened during the holy month of RAMADAN, which makes me wonder where are we heading at a nation of peace and a nation of Islam?

Blogger Unite - May 15

May 15 marks the anniversary for bloggers unite. This year the aim is to focus on the human rights. I only found this out from the following blogs: Blogger Unite and thanks to Mental Jog for a reminder.

Below is a summary from Blogger Unite:

Bloggers: making a difference

Bloggers Unite is an initiative designed to harness the power of the blogosphere to make the world a better place. By challenging bloggers to blog about a particular social cause on a single day, a single voice can be joined with thousands of others to help make a real positive difference; from raising awareness for cancer, to an effort to better education systems or support 3rd world countries.

Bloggers unite for human rights

While the words might change from country to country and are sometimes taken for granted, human rights represent one of the universally agreed upon ideas — that all people are born with basic rights and freedoms that include life, liberty, and justice. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations.

Bloggers Unite For Human Rights challenges bloggers everywhere to help elevate human rights by drawing attention to the challenges and successes of human rights issues on May 15. What those topics may include — the wrongful imprisonment of journalists covering assemblies, governments that ignore the plight of citizens, and censorship of the Internet. What is important is that on one day, thousands of bloggers unite and share their unified support of human rights everywhere.

So thinking that this is a good idea? Well it is absolutely brilliant move, we have to speak up and stand united for our voice to be heard in this world. So interested in participating?
